It is this kind of precision and attention to detail that make Dana Sippel not only an exceptional sailor, but has led him to build an experienced career in wealth management.
Dana is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of wealth management experience, and an Accredited Estate Planner. He also earned the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ designation as a Personal Financial Specialist. In his role as a financial advisor, he advises high net worth clients on portfolio management, personal financial planning, tax strategies, retirement planning and charitable giving strategies. He has worked with leading Washington, D.C. financial institutions, most recently with West Financial Services.
Dana is a native Washingtonian, and received an accounting degree from the University of Maryland. While attending the University of Maryland, he was an active member of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary accounting fraternity. Yes, the accounting fraternity.
He has served his profession as a chairman of the board and past president of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (now called the Financial Planning Association) of the National Capital Area. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Giving back to the community has always been a priority to Dana, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of McLean, and is active in many of their local community service programs.
Dana has been recognized by Washingtonian Magazine in their biennial listing of Top Money Advisers and has been recognized as one of Northern Virginia Magazine’s Top Financial Professionals for the past six years.
Dana is an avid cyclist and sailor, and resides in Rockville, Maryland, with his wife Lisa and their dog, Scooter.
