Why We Value This Recognition
Unlike rankings based on assets under management or revenue, Washingtonian takes a different approach. They survey hundreds of local financial professionals—estate planning attorneys, tax accountants, insurance specialists, and other advisors—and ask a simple question: “Whom would you trust with your own money?”
This peer-recommendation methodology means the advisors who make the list are those who actively collaborate with other professionals. It’s a recognition that aligns directly with how we approach wealth management.
Collaboration Is at the Heart of What We Do
At Glassman Wealth, we believe comprehensive financial planning involves a coordinated team. Your wealth touches multiple disciplines—tax strategy, estate planning, insurance, and more—and we work closely with the professionals you already trust to ensure every piece fits together.
We proactively reach out to your accountants with tax projections. We explore trust strategies with your estate attorneys. We analyze how business decisions might affect your personal financial picture. When those professionals are surveyed about which advisors they’d trust with their own money, it’s gratifying to see our collaborative approach reflected in their responses.
How Washingtonian Selects Top Advisors
The process is straightforward: Washingtonian distributes surveys to hundreds of area financial professionals, including fee-only financial planners, fee-based advisers, estate attorneys, tax accountants, and insurance specialists. The advisors who receive the strongest peer recommendations earn the “Top Financial Advisor” designation. Selection comes entirely from peer voting and independent research by Washingtonian’s editorial team.
We’re grateful for this recognition, and more importantly, for the trust our clients and professional partners place in us every day. If you’d like to learn more about our approach to wealth management, we’d love to hear from you.
Washingtonian surveyed area financial professionals during the 4-6 months prior to the January 2026 publishing of the award. They distributed surveys to hundreds of people who work in the local financial industry, asking them whom they would trust with their own money; also doing their own research, consulting industry experts and publications. Names on this list received the strongest recommendations. No money was paid to be part of this award.
