“This is a group of dedicated and competitive women, uniquely working together for an amazing cause. Now, that’s newsworthy,” said Barry Glassman, president of Glassman Wealth Services.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Survivor’s Offering Support (SOS), a grassroots organization that provides breast cancer patients with highly trained mentors who have completed breast cancer treatment – these mentors offer patients knowledge, a shared experience, as well as empathetic support. In addition to peer-to-peer support, SOS offers Partner Support Workshops for spouses, partners and caregivers, as well as Transition to Wellness Workshops for survivors evolving from treatment to wellness.
About the NewsBash
The NewsBash for Breast Cancer is the annual Washington, D.C. event that raises awareness and funds for breast cancer causes. It began in 2009 when a group of good friends in the TV news industry decided to create an even to benefit for one cause. The pink-themed cocktail party draws an amazing crowd of breast cancer survivors, advocates and political and media power players. For more information on the NewsBash, please visit DCNewsbabes.org.
