Once again, you came together as no other group could to have a profound impact on the lives of those touched by breast cancer. The Seventh Annual NewsBash for Breast Cancer was another amazing success as you rallied over 300 of your colleagues in the media, supporters and friends to raise awareness and money to benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
When your voices come together for this cause each year, you amplify the message of urgency to find a cure and bring encouragement to those who are battling breast cancer. This is your superpower. Armed in pink and ready to do battle, you are a force to be reckoned with. As you return to your studios and schedules, my hope is that you remember the good that you did last evening.
Congresswomen Linda Sanchez spoke eloquently of the need to reach women who have limited access to cancer prevention screenings and treatment. This message was brought home by Bo Aldigé, the president and founder of the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Because of you, their outreach program Celebremos La Vida! will screen hundreds of under-served mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts in the Hispanic community for cervical and breast cancer. Lives will be saved because you cared enough to act.
