When you ask someone who was hired as the Client Service and Operations Manager what their passion is, and they respond, ‘From a professional perspective, I would say client service is right at the top,’ you know they are in the perfect job. That person is Colin Gerrety.
The passion he expressed is evident in how he approaches everything he does, and it is why Colin has joined Glassman Wealth as our Client Service and Operations Manager.
Colin is in it to help people; whether he’s assisting clients and their advisors, finding ways to improve what we do for clients and how we do it, or volunteering to raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s, he genuinely cares about others.
“I like working with people and helping them do something that they otherwise would not have been able to accomplish. Helping others achieve their goals is how I feel of value and what drives me to be successful in my work,” said Colin.
Prior to his role here, Colin had the benefit of working with many advisory firms serving high-net worth clients, and he is applying what he learned from them to his role at Glassman Wealth. He uses this knowledge to build on and improve every engagement and interaction our clients have with us.
Colin also supports the Client Advisors, allowing them to free up more time to spend with clients on their financial planning and investment initiatives. He shares our unified goal of ‘enriching our clients’ lives’ and accomplishes this by helping to make the firm more efficient and responsive.
Colin enjoys the collaborative environment fostered at Glassman Wealth. “I think it takes a certain personality to put other people’s interests ahead of your own, and Barry Glassman has done a phenomenal job of putting together a team of differing personalities that complement each other and share a common theme,” Colin said.
One of the theme’s Colin shares with others at Glassman Wealth is his passion to learn new things. His international volunteer experiences inspired him to double major in Spanish along with Economics at Vanderbilt University.
Another one of Colin’s passions is music. Colin plays the guitar and ukulele, and is currently teaching himself to play the mandolin.
