Trey Gresh, CFP®
Trey has a passion for learning new things and striving to become a better person each day. He believes if you can improve one small thing each day, over time those incremental changes will add up to big achievements. He employs this approach when working with clients to be proactive and build trust with each family. He enjoys working closely with clients, connecting with them on a personal level, listening to their questions, and forming a deep understanding of their financial lives and needs.
Trey’s experience with collegiate athletics, particularly as quarterback for Virginia Tech, has taught him the importance of working as part of a team, communicating effectively, and prioritization. These transferrable skills allow Trey to effectively coordinate all aspects of his clients’ financial lives.
Prior to joining Glassman Wealth, Trey was a financial advisor at a multifamily office advising high net worth clients. He advised clients on all aspects of financial planning, including investments, taxes, estate planning, and insurance. Trey also performed all investment related research which sparked a unique interest in private equity and alternative investments. In addition, Trey oversaw all day-to-day operations at his prior firm.
Trey grew up in Virginia and earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and marketing, as well as a minor in economics from Virginia Tech. He attained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2015 from George Mason University. He currently lives in Sterling with his wife, Shannon, their son, Drew, and their dog, Dali. During his free time, you’ll likely find him hiking, fishing, gardening, grilling, exploring a new area with his family, or watching his favorite sports teams.
Fun Fact: Trey started and ran a lawn care business when he was 15. This not only helped him save money for college, but also led to his love for landscaping.
