Courtney Oetjen’s warm and generous personality leaves a lasting impression on our clients and her GWS team members. She manages the daily administrative duties of our office creating an efficient and friendly work environment for everyone. She is the consummate team player and expert multi-tasker as she assists team members with various initiatives.
As Barry’s Executive Assistant she adeptly coordinates Barry’s schedule and seems to somehow find more time in each day for him to meet or speak with our clients.
She coordinates many of the charitable events for our firm including our annual Chef Night, an over-the-top wine and tasting dinner to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society. Courtney helps to oversee this year-long effort, leads the Chef Night auction committee and is a driving force in making Chef Night a success each year. She also coordinates Sunday Night Suppers, a joint effort by Martha’s Table and the D.C. Kitchen to help alleviate hunger and poverty in our area, and the Starlight Children’s Foundation ™ MidAtlantic’s annual gala on behalf of GWS.
“I really enjoy getting to know our clients and building a relationship with them. My goal is to make sure that they don’t get a voicemail, that we respond as quickly as possible to any requests, and to make sure that we are going above and beyond to meet their needs.”
Prior to working at GWS, she was the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of National Security Studies and Analysis Division for a government contractor.
Courtney is passionate about giving back and donates her time and talents to several charities. She is on the Young Professionals Council of the Starlight Children’s Foundation™ MidAtlantic whose mission is to provide fun and games to seriously ill children, and hopes to one day start a charitable organization of her own.
Fact: Courtney enjoys a physical challenge and once rode her bike the entire distance of the Boston Marathon to cheer her friends to the finish line.
