Travis Russell, CFP®, employs many of the disciplines of success that he learned as a professional golfer on various mini-tours, and as a Division 1 hockey player, namely, persistence, practice, and a having passion for what you do, to his role as our Assistant Director of Financial Planning.

His desire to help families build successful portfolios is one of the primary reasons that he became a financial planner.  Travis thrives on finding better ways to serve our clients. He demonstrates his expertise by working closely with our investment and financial planning teams to develop and deliver sound investment and wealth preservation strategies for our high-net worth families.

As an integral member of our Investment Policy Committee, Travis likes to push the team to bring new investment ideas and applications to the firm’s portfolio strategies. He leads the firm’s qualified plan division which manages over $25 million in assets.  Participants in these company plans, many of whom who would have had limited access to investment expertise, benefit from the same investment research as our client families.

Travis received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and has attained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.  Prior to joining Glassman Wealth Services, he worked for a local wealth management firm specializing in investment and wealth management for high-net worth families. He also worked with JP Morgan Chase and Company, and Smith Barney managing various investment, portfolio construction, and financial planning initiatives.

He continues to lead the next generation of aspiring Division 1 hockey players by coaching young goalies throughout the greater DC area.

Fact:  Travis recently played an outdoor hockey game at Fenway Park as part of the 2012 Frozen Fenway. The game was an alumni game for all past University of Vermont hockey players.
